To ensure the safety of field contractors and employees and respond to concerns over incidents with regards to log hauling, a forestry company contacted GIS Solutions Inc. to determine which segments of its extensive road network had the steepest grades and where they were located. Using a combination of road segment data, Digital Elevation Modeling and Geographical Information Systems we were able to to provide the answers they were looking for.
